With Canon having their rebate sales on right now, I've taken advantage of it and purchased a 40D plus 17-85mm lense and a 70-200 L 4F lense. With these purchases I keep on telling myself that these are "investments" more than "purchases" as this will let me be even more flexible and versatile with my photosessions. I'm keeping my original camera, the Canon Xti as a backup, as it is just an awesome camera and I've had so much fun with it over the last year.
So my gear now includes:
-2 Canon DSLR cameras
-5 lenses
-1 flash
-24 inch iMac for photo editing and slideshows
Eeeks, I need a new camera bag or suitcase now!

My newborn nephew Kaden - just 3 hours old
Finally the day has come! I think my family's been waiting for this day for about 18 years now - my brother and sister in law just had their firstborn yesterday at about 8:30 pm. A healthy 8lbs 10oz baby boy and his name is Kaden! I saw him yesterday at just 3 hours old and he is such a precious little thing...

Baby Joey at 5 Months - Baby Photo Session!
A couple months ago I had a chance to photograph baby Joey who is just the cutest thing! We took some photos in my portable "baby studio" and he seemed very amused by four of us adults and his brother Tommy all making funny faces at him. There are soooo many adorable photos of him, it's quite hard to choose which ones to put up so here's a few of them for now.
Thanks Amy & Lang again - I think we're due for a visit!!!
This photo of Joey and his older brother Tommy makes me want to go aww....

Evette at 20 months old - Outdoor Photo Session with Family
Here are a few photos of little Evette and her family from our photo session at Deer Lake in Burnaby last month. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and we had fun playing on the swings, looking at the birds and flowers and of course playing with bubbles! It was a whole family outing that day with Grandma and Grandpa joining us on the photo shoot as well as enjoying the calming views at Deer Lake.
I just love her smile!

It all started with travel...
Photography for me started when I was given a film point and shoot before I went travelling to Japan for a year when I was 20 years old. That whole year was spent clicking away at anything that I saw and also being in front of the camera doing my "peace" signs like a proper Japanese girl should do.
I came home with over 2500 photos and I was hooked. I loved the thrill of "catching the moment". My travels over the next 5 years to Europe, Southeast Asia, Japan again and the tropical islands of Hawaii was documented with a SLR type Fuji digital camera. I often found myself taking photos of not just the landscape and architecture but of the people in each of the places that I visited and fantasized (yes, fantasized) that I was some kind of National Geographic photographer on some special assignment!
Over the last couple of years I became more serious about photography - by serious, I mean investing the time into taking formal photography classes and of course investing in my gear to a point where it's become much more than an expensive hobby.
I've also finally discovered what I really enjoy photographing over this past year. I love photographing babies and children. Don't get me wrong, I love photographing sports, events, pets and couples but I find catching the moment of babies and children to be most rewarding because they're not so little for so long and they are so much fun!!
So that's me in a nutshell - I hope to keep blogging and posting photos of my photosessions, travels from before and other randomness :)
